You can play through your battle without a timer with Action Points!
You start with a number of action points based on your Hero’s Speed stat. With a base of 3 Action Points at 100 Speed.
To view your Hero's speed stat this can be found in your Gear screen by clicking the '?' icon and under the running boot icon.
Action Point base total is increased at 150, 225, 325, 450, and 600 Speed.
Within the battle!
Your Action Points are displayed in the top left of the game board.
Each move on the board costs 1 Action Point (AP), with casting Spells or opening Hero Gems, such as the Necromancers Death Gem, not costing any Action Points. Spells can be cast between moves.
When making matches of 5 or higher will award an Action Point in the next turn. Matches of 10 or higher will award 2 Action Points.
Action Points reset to your base amount, plus any bonus AP earned from the previous turn. You can have a maximum of 10 AP at the beginning of a turn
For example: If in my turn (3 AP Base) I make a match of 6 Yellow Gems, at the start of my next turn I will have 4 AP.
Your enemies will also have AP. Just like your Hero, their base AP is relevant to their Speed stat as well. On the enemy's turn, they will make matches and attack or cast a spell.
The enemy will continue to attack each turn, even if they don’t match skulls. However, when matching skulls, they don’t receive a bonus to their attack.
Changing to and from AP and Timer mode
Players can swap between Timer or Action Points through the General tab of the settings menu. This will take effect in the next battle you play.
